BOARD CARE INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Never Place Your Board in the Dishwasher. The high heat and water pressure can cause the wood to warp and crack.
  2. Disinfecting After Cutting Meats - you may wash with warm soapy water; however, do not allow the board to soak. Be sure to rinse and dry well with a towel. A great alternative is a Disinfecting Vinegar Solution: Mix one part white vinegar with four parts water. Spray the solution onto the board and let it sit for a few minutes before rinsing and drying.
  1. To Remove Stubborn Stains or Odors - make a Salt and Lemon Paste/Stain & Order Remover: Sprinkle coarse salt on the board’s surface, add some lemon juice, and rub the mixture into the surface. Let it sit for a few minutes before rinsing and drying.
  1. How to Maintain Moisture and Prevent Cracking: Apply Food-Grade Mineral Oil or Specialized Cutting Board Oil or board butterPour a small amount of oil onto the surface and rub it in with a clean cloth, following the grain of the wood. Make sure to coat all sides and edges. Allow the oil to soak into the wood for a few hours or overnight, then wipe off any excess with a clean, dry cloth.

By following these steps, you can ensure your cutting board remains in excellent condition, providing you with years of reliable use.
