OUR STORY

Rick and LeAnn Viel are a husband-and-wife team who swapped California’s chaos for the calm of Farmington, Missouri. After Rick’s 30-year military career, we settled into our humble 3-acre property—a quiet spot that sparked Two Cuts Carpentry. With decades of experience, Rick crafts heirloom-quality pieces—cutting boards, shadow boxes, tables, and custom wooden frames—each shaped by precision and a love for the wood. LeAnn brings beeswax goods and pressed flower creations, from elegant displays to custom keepsakes made with your own flowers. Whether it’s petals from a wedding bouquet, an anniversary corsage, a baby’s first bloom, a retirement gift, or any memory you’d like to preserve, we’ll transform them into something timeless. Imagine a frame for your wall, a shadow box for your shelf, or a unique design just for you—reach out to tell us about your moment. We’ll explain how it works, from pressing to framing, and give you a custom estimate based on size, style, and details.

Our name and motto reflect the woodworker’s grind: “Measure twice,” though an extra cut and a possible "Oh Sh--" often sneaks in. “Measure, measure, cut, swear, measure, repeat” captures the patience we pour into every piece. From our workshop to your home, we’re crafting keepsakes built to last.
